User Guide for eQuest Job Posters.
This article provides a basic overview of the eQuest Job Posting Interface.
If a job field is incomplete or invalid (or flagged for review by your admin), your attention will be directed to that field.
Once done with review or correction, select 'Next'.
If all the required fields/values are received, you will bypass Job Details (step 1) and land on the Select Destinations page.
Here you will make your job board selections. These job board options have been configured by your company eQuest administrator.
The Summary of Job Board Actions on the right provides a view of the specific actions taken during your session (Post, Update, Repost, Delete).
The Board Specific Data page gives users the ability to determine which values are displayed on the specified job board-essentially overriding any default mapping eQuest has configured for that field on that board. Board Specific Data does not support every job board field, and is not available for all job boards. Many of these fields are optional.
Make any required entries and move on to the 'Next' page.
On the Job Preview page you will see three sections: Summary of Job Board Actions, the Scheduler, and the Job Preview sections.
The Post Scheduler provides insight on the best day to post the job to get the best candidate results based on a variety of data points. You can also schedule in the traditional sense (e.g. to create and queue jobs before a vacation).
You can collapse and expand the post scheduler section by clicking on the black arrow next to the heading Increase Candidate Responses. We will remember the state of the calendar for your next session.
Scroll below to see a summary of ATS job detail or click on the "Jump to Preview" link.
When you are satisfied with the requisition details and are ready to post the job, click Submit.
IMPORTANT: If you discover a modification to the actual job content needs to be made, you should make the corrections in your applicant tracking system and re-submit the job.
Finally, 'Submit' your job. Once your eQuest session is complete, you will either see our standard "Thank You" page, or you will be routed back into your ATS.
This article will provide a basic overview of the eQuest standalone Job Posting Interface (Joblauncher).
Go to: https://joblauncher.equest.com/
Log in using the credentials that were provided by your Administrator or eQuest support.
If the Account Selector has been enabled for your account, you will be prompted to select the account that you would like to manage after logging in (you must have Admin account permissions).
More about the Account Selector
This is the first page you'll see after logging into Joblauncher.
Here you can locate active jobs (or inactive jobs by turning "Show inactive jobs" to "yes") and take action on those jobs. You can also create new job's in the Manage Jobs page.
Clicking on the arrow on the Edit button provides four related options.
This option allows you to repost to all job boards, or edit and repost to specific job boards.
Clicking on the Repost button will delete your existing job from all boards and resend the job to all originally selected boards.
NOTE: This will result in new job board transactions!
Another option is using the "Repost" shortcuts (white arrow to the right of the Repost label)
1. "Repost" deletes your job from all board and then reposts it to the same boards using the original Job Details, BSD, etc.
2. "Edit and Repost" deletes your job and allows you to edit any of the Job Details, Job Board options, BSD, before pushing back out to the job boards.
These options allow you to delete from one board or all job boards with a single click.
To delete the job from all boards, click the red delete button to the right of the Edit and Repost buttons.
To delete from specific boards, click on the delete icon next to the job board expiration.
Select this option if you would like to create a job from scratch.
Select the Manage Jobs option from the user options menu.
Compose a New Job by entering all required job fields.

The Account Selector must be enabled by the eQuest Support team.
Posting via Joblauncher: select a Posting Account and arrive on the Manage Jobs page for that account.

The Board Specific Data fields labeled as Optional give the user the ability to determine at the time of posting, which Category, Location, etc., are displayed on the job board
This essentially overrides any default mapping eQuest has set up for that field.
The Board Specific Data fields labeled as Required (or "Select One") are values not collected as part of eQuest's integration with your ATS, but are Required by that Board.
This page allows us to collect this information so your job posting is accepted by the job board.
Some of the fields have default values which can be overridden.
Make your selections and select "Next" to proceed to the Job Preview page.
This article covers the various job board button states on the Select Destinations page.
Some of these states are dependent upon options that must be enabled by the eQuest Support team or your admin. The features that require configuration by eQuest support (or an admin) are noted as such.
Our recommendations are enabled by default.
We rank & score job sites by utilizing key pieces of job data against our entire database — comparing like-jobs.
Scores of 75 or higher are recommended (thumbs up) and anything below 75 is not recommended (thumbs down).
To find out more about the button alerts, hover your mouse cursor over the "Details" section.
Here you see the currently available inventory, notes left by the admin, board score, etc.
____
The Job Posting Expiration Alerts feature allows users to be notified via email prior to their job postings expiring on job boards.
After two failed attempts, we will present a CAPTCHA.
Three additional failed attempts (beginning with the first CAPTCHA prompt) will result in the admin account locking for 10 minutes.
Every subsequent failed attempt will lock the account for 10 additional minutes.
Click on Reset Password on the admin login screen (https://admin.equest.com) to reset it.
NOTE your email address must be present in the admin account (Account Email field) in order to reset the password.
Any current admin with access can check this field/value and make needed changes.
After 5 failed attempts, the account will lock for 10 minutes.
Every subsequent failed attempt locks the account for 10 minutes.Check with your ATS to determine if the login information being passed to eQuest matches what is set up inside of eQuest for the account being used.
The username and password must match in both systems and is case sensitive.
If you forgot your user account password, please reset in your admin portal.
Please also reset the password in your ATS.
Undesirable formatting on job posting is often caused by copying and pasting from Microsoft Word into the job details area of your ATS.
To possibly prevent these formatting issues it is best to create these text areas of your posting in a simple text editor such as Notepad (Windows) or TextEdit/SimpleText (Mac), and then copy and paste the text into the job creation area in your ATS.
If this does not resolve the issue, please consult your ATS support team for assistance on reviewing the HTML format. All edits/changes must be made within your ATS. Once corrected, please send an update to the eQuest system. We will then pass the update along to the job board(s).
A "Return_Code=4" error is usually the result of incomplete or invalid eQuest user login information being sent from the ATS to eQuest. The two applications connect based on user login information. If the username and/or password is not an exact match in both systems, successful posting cannot happen.
If you receive this error when posting a job, please ensure the username and password passed from your ATS matches what has been setup in your eQuest admin portal
Note: Usernames and passwords are case sensitive.
A user cannot select one or more job board buttons on the eQuest Select Destinations page (Step 2).
If none of these seem to apply, please have your admin file a ticket in our support portal.
This fix addresses the Chrome 85+ referrer URL issue which results in the "Request source could not be identified" error when accessing eQuest via the SAML link within the to-do task.
Action Required if Using Chrome 85 or higher
If using Chrome 85 or higher, the Assertion Consumer Service URL must be updated to include a new field and your Tenant name.
Steps to Update
Please Note
Those Not Using Chrome 85 or higher
The old Assertion Consumer Service URL (https://workday.equest.com/login_workday_check) will continue to be supported. There is no need to update the URL if you are not using Chrome.
Verifying the Fix
You can verify the fix by accessing the eQuest job posting interface without the "Request source could not be identified" error (while using Chrome 85+).
1. Can eQuest notify me when my job is due to expire on a job board?
Yes. Posting Expiration Alerts can be configured from within the job posting interface. See Related for more information: Posting Expiration Alerts
2. Does eQuest auto-generate job postal codes?
Yes, for jobs located in the US. Many job boards in the US require a postal code; if a US-based job is posted without a postal code, we will auto-assign one using the USPS (United States Postal Service) database.
3. Is my email address published on the job boards?
No. However, in some rare cases, when the job board requires an apply email address we will use the default posting account email address.
In most circumstances, we will only provide the job board the career site apply URL.
4. Is there a way to have my job reposted automatically once it becomes expired on the job boards?
Yes. However, this feature must be enabled by your eQuest admin. See Related Pages for more information about Auto-Repost. Auto Reposting Jobs to Boards
5. What if I don't want to schedule my job, and just want to post it today?
By default, the calendars are set to "Today”. If you would like to post to all boards on the current business day, simply "Submit" without making any calendar selections.
6. When do you deliver the scheduled job to the boards?
After the job has been posted, the job posting will be delivered to the job board at the next scheduled board delivery time.
Board delivery times
can be found in the Overview in the Job Board Information section.
7. Is there a way that I can find the date that I scheduled my postings?
Yes. Your eQuest system administrator can find this information using the Job Search tool, see Related Pages to search your job requisitions. Job Search Tool Overview
8. Can I change the schedule date after it has been set?
Yes. If the posting hasn't been delivered, you can modify the scheduled date. To do so, come back into the eQuest posting interface, locate the position, choose the appropriate delivery date in the Calendar and click “Submit”.
Please note: If the posting has already been delivered, the calendar will be locked.
A true job posting "refresh" means that the posted date at the job board is updated, so the job looks like it was recently posted to Jobseekers--usually increasing the number of applicants.
A true refresh cannot be achieved by updating a job within eQuest. The refresh has to happen at the job board level, and most job boards do not support refreshes.
Refreshing Workaround
The common work-around is closing and reposting the job. This will result in a new "posted date", but it also results in additional transactions as it's considered a new posting by the board, and eQuest.
To repost an expired job, job posters should first "close" the job from within your ATS and then post it again.
Simply posting the job again (or sending an update/edit request) without first closing the posting will not repost the job in most cases.
Please contact your ATS's support site or documentation for detailed instructions on how to close and repost a job.
